I've been working on a new drawing, but I wasn't really vibing with it. I like to try and push myself with my projects, but usually what happens is that I don't like how something looks and I just fall back on what's safe. It's not a bad drawing, but I know I can do better.

So in the meantime, here's a sketch page I did to study the characters in the drawing. I guess you could think of it as a teaser.

Apes are indeed about to escape. I've got an idea for a remake of my Pink Monkey piece and one for Blue Monkey too (all based designs based on 3 of course (the one I grew up with)).

I blame work and PC issues... but I recently finished a bunch of courses I was taking part in to improve my animation skills, so hopefully, I can start posting more animations in the future and I have a couple of ideas of stuff I want to do. The courses were mainly focused on learning what was possible with the programs (Toon Boom and Blender), and I will say I'm a lot more comfortable with hand-drawn animation but I enjoyed working on all of these (especially the 3D one).

And one more thing, I said in my last art post that Octorias would be getting some friends; Well here's a WIP of the first of the two:

Yep, Ornstein (or I guess Urchstein?) is up next, and you can probably guess who's up next. After that, I'll be moving away from Splatsouls for a little bit to work on some other stuff and maybe do a bit of original work. Anyway, that's the end of this update, I'll see you soon with the finished Urchstein piece!

Well, I've gone through my backlog of art now, so there probably won't be anything new for a bit...

That being said, I did want to give an update on what I am working on:

I'm drawing Octorias again, but I'm experimenting with a new art software: Procreate! And while I had to sell a kidney to get an iPad, I'm really enjoying using it right now and being able to draw digitally anywhere I want is nice. I'll be finishing up that first sketch over the next few days, and after that, you can expect Octorias to have found some new friends.
