So things have been kind of hectic irl so I haven't had a lot of time for posting and art have been low. With that said I'm currently working on the concept art for the 9th monster in Monster Hunter Pocket, meaning I can return to pixel art soon.

But, since it has been awhile and speaking of concept art, I thought I could share some of the work that goes into making the Monster Hunter Pocket sprites (eventhough I was meant to share these sketch pages initially and forgot but don't worry about that...). Starting off, here's the three current monsters: Rathalos, Lagiacrus and Pukei-Pukei!

Next up we have the remaining returning monsters: Rajang, Barioth and Nergigante! (Nergigante took up so much space they needed two pages)

And finally we have two of the four new monsters being added to the roster: Arkveld and Mizutsune!

Drawing these monster has been a ton of fun, and I could go on and on about the different design aspects of each monster (like have you noticed the little "cleets" on Barioth's paws?) but I would be here forever.

Hey everyone! The next set of Monster Hunter Pocket pieces are going to come out a bit later as I'm currently working on something I can't talk about yet.

But, I'm going to be getting all the sketching out of the way so I can just focus on the pixel art (which should let me release the characters more frequently too)! Hope you guys look forward to it!

Another animation update here for you!

Yeah, so, after taking that break for art fight I got the colouring for the animation done in 2 weeks. Honestly, I thought I would be away for another month! Anyway, next up is the shading but I won't be sharing a progress update on that till I'm done with the FX animation after, which is definitely (probably) going to be over a month till I can show it off.

Aside from that, I might (and that's a big might) have some new pixel art to share with you guys soon. But until then, see you guys next time!

Hacknine & the Vegas Sphere (clean pass)

A short update for once (only cause I'm in a rush)! Here's the latest progress on the animation. I'll get around to colouring it later, but first I've got some art fight attacks to do!

I really wish I could share this with more people on here, but I don't want to clog up my video section (or the animation portal) with work in progress pieces. Anyway, gotta shoot! See you guys!

And I'm very tired, but we move. I don't mean to keep going radio silent for such long periods, I do tend to get way too engrossed into my work and I'm absolutely abismal at keeping up with social media. I can't excuse myself for this, especially since this has been to my detriment more recently; I've been experiencing some troubles with my left elbow recently (which is my drawing arm) that, while not too bad right now, have made me have to consider taking things more easy, which also hasn't helped with a large of burnout I've been feeling on my current animation project.

So, what does this mean? Well, for starters, I'm continuing work on the animation. Despite my burnout, I still feel like I'm putting good work into it and at this point abandonning it would just feel plain silly. In fact, here's the finished clean for shots 2 and 3 (shot 1 doesn't have the character so I don't have to animate). I'm currently... halfway(?) into cleaning up shot 4, and while I did want to get it done for this month to show you guys the whole thing that isn't gonna happen.

Next, once clean up is done, I'm going to be working on this animation a bit less so that I can make some other stuff. I know that might seem a bit backwards considering the previous problems I've listed, but my burnout really comes from being bogged down on one project for so long and instead of making one really good looking animations, I want to make "crappy" ones... and finally push forward with some original projects (even though I really want to play some games (I'm right at the end of Paper Mario TTYD) so bear with me).

My original plan was to get the animation done by October, but now I'm taking the stance of "It's done when it's done". This is really important to me as I want to start pushing to get a career in animation and this seems like the best way to get my work out there, alongside interacting with the community more (eventhough my quietness seems to extend to my online persona). As for my elbow, I've been doing stretches, exercises and wearing supports and it's feeling better, but I don't want to risk never being able to draw again so I'll still be taking it easy for some time.

That's almost everything, but I've got one more thing to share that I'm excited and nervous about:

I'm joining Artfight this year! I'll be on team Seafoam, but noboby's safe, I'll be attacking everyone and drawing as many peoples characters as I can. The characters I've put forward for other people to draw are: Mellow, Shamus, Lucy and Bruce (ignore John Travolta, I haven't submitted a fifth character). Welp, that enough from me, I know I've wrote long posts in the past but this one has gone overboard. I'll see you guys next month with more stuff, mainly Artfight and 1-hour anim probably, and hopefully my drawing arm doesn't explode!

I'm going to try and take it a bit easier for a bit to get some other stuff done, but I'm hoping to have this done by October. In the meantime, there may be some other stuff to share with you guys and I have some sketch pages I never uploaded here cause I wanted to post them in a big block, but I didn't make as many as I wanted so yeah... Still cooking this one up, so here's a WIP of the next illustration. It's Pink Monkey again! But angry! Aside from being cute, this is primarily the reason why Pink's my favourite.

I haven't posted in a while, so here's a work in progress for the next illustration. I'm trying some new stuff and having a lot of fun with it!

This will probably be the last thing I post until the new year, so happy holidays everyone! And all the best for the new year!

Okay, I wanted to talk about what I had planned up next and what's going on for the rest of the year in terms of uploads and a little bit about life in general. The rest of the year is pretty packed for me, work's got me doing the Okie Cokie since I'm in and out during the entirety of December and I'm looking to spend a bit more time with my family, so it's going to take me a bit longer to finish the next illustration(s).

This is on top of me wanting to work on more animations, with the current one I'm working on sizing up to be a big one. I've made a storyboard for it so far that I didn't want to share initially as I ripped a bunch of sounds off of Freesounds for the soundscape, but I'm not a sound designer and I credited everyone so I'm not too sure why I felt bad about it. Now let's talk about the next illustration, well, illustrations. I've already said this a few times, but the next illustrations will be of Pink Monkey from Ape Escape and will be a remake of the old piece I did *checks notes* in 2020?! Has it really been that long? Well, instead of doing one drawing that can be flipped either way, I'm instead going to do two drawings: one of her usual look, and the one where she's pissed. I'm looking forward to it, but that will be the last Ape Escape piece I do for now and I will be shifting back to Splatsouls for a bit (cause boy do I have ideas!).

With that said though, I've been doing a lot of fan art lately and I don't really want to be known for constantly making fan art. I haven't really helped myself with this cause I keep having ideas for fan art that get me really pumped, but at the same time, I've got a lot of original ideas that I want to share with you guys. This doesn't mean that I'm going to stop doing fan art (like I said, I've got a lot of ideas), but from this point, you can probably expect to see some more sketches and pieces based on my own original work in between bigger illustrations (that I'm going to start taking a bit more time on). So, I hope you guys look forward to it!
